Indie Studio Strange New Things Acquired By CD Projekt RED To Help Cyberpunk 2077 Development

Studio consists of former Techland, IO Interactive and CD Projekt RED developers

CD Projekt RED, the developers of the upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077, has acquired Polish-based indie studio Strange New Things. Founded last year, Strange New Things employed ex-developers from Techland (Dying Light), IO Interactive (Hitman) and CD Projekt RED.

The studio, to be renamed as CD Projekt RED Wrocław, is led by former Techland COO Pawel Zawody, and will remain in the role as the studio transition into working on Cyberpunk. The team currently fields 18 employees, with the number expected to grow as the studio is expected to expand.

Little is still known about the Cyberpunk game itself, other than vague statements such as it will be even more ambitious than The Witcher III.
