Publisher Playism has announced that Idol Manager, developed by GlitchPitch, now has a release date.
As the name implies, the game is a management sim of a talent agency, acting as a producer. As producer-san, you’ll be recruiting and training Japanese pop stars in the cutthroat idol industry. You get to do the usual idol stuff, from selling CDs to running hand-shake meet-and-greet events.
Not only that, you’ll have to manage the relationship between members of your idol group, and scandals can pop up and you’ll have to effectively manage these crises. Or just be brutal about it as the real industry can be a lot of times.
Idol Manager will have you improving your idols’ stats and making choices for in-game events. So sim and management games fans might want to take a look at this interesting take of an idol game. This one doesn’t involve hitting buttons in rhythm to songs.
Also, the game will also include a collaboration with idol group Kamen Joshi. Two of the theme songs are sung by the group, and the members’ voices can be heard in the game as well.
Idol Manager releases on July 27 on PC via Steam.
