Hotel Barcelona, the roguelite that is the brainchild of Suda51 (No More Heroes) and Swery (Deadly Premonition), now has a release date.
Developed by White Owls Inc (the development team founded by Swery) and published by Cult Games, Hotel Barcelona is a fever dream of an action roguelite. With lots of blood. And anime-inspired visuals.
As Justine, you’ll have to take on the eponymous hotel’s current management, which happens to be a group of “tough as nails brutes, psychopaths, and criminals from all over America.”
The one cool twist Hotel Barcelona brings to roguelites is Slasher Phantoms. The ghost of Justine’s past runs will mimic the actions that you made. More games have been inspired by Super Time Force, finally.
Hotel Barcelona also features over 100 weapons to wield, a soundtrack featuring new music by Yuji “TECHNOuchi” Takenouchi (Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake). If you love Suda and Swery’s past works and their take on Americana, Hotel Barcelona sounds like a wild ride you don’t want to miss.
Hotel Barcelona releases on September 26 for the PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
