Repent After Death Is Roguelike Platformer With An Anti-Super Time Force Mechanic

Developer Exploding Soes announced its new game Repent After Death, a roguelike with a twist. And it’s a rather unconventional twist, as it has a time loop feature where the run of your previous character is recorded and replayed on top of your new character’s run. Like Super Time Force.

But instead of having multiple copies of yourselves helping out each other, these past runs are a hindrance to you. You have to dodge their (previously your) attacks or they’ll kill you, repeating the cycle of death. It’s not like Super Time Force, this is an anti-Super Time Force game.

And the comparison to Super Time Force goes further in that it’s played as a 2D platformer. But that’s where the comparison ends.

Repent After Death, like most roguelikes, has items and artifacts that can you can acquire and purchase to bring you an edge in your run to reach, and hopefully clear, the end of the dungeon. You can pick at least two characters, each with a different moveset, though who you’re getting upon each death is up to a randomiser.

If that all sounds intriguing, or not clear enough, why not try the demo of Repent After Death. It’s available now ahead of Steam Next Fest. The game has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PC (Steam).
