Horizon Forbidden West Emerges As Most Anticipated PS5 Exclusive

There are 28 games revealed in the recent PS5 reveal stream, which includes the reveal of the console itself. According to a new study by iPrice Group, there’s a clear winner on what’s the most anticipated title of them all.

The study counts worldwide Google Trends date on June 12- the day the PS5 event was held- counting the game titles in Japanese and English. So it’s not exactly the full picture, but should include the many English and Japanese-speaking players around the world.

Games that have been revealed before, and games with too generic of a name are not counted (sorry, Stray).

From the PS5 exclusive games, 25% of total Google search volumes comes from Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn. The open-world adventure, slated for release in 2021.

Potential PS5 launch game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales follows in second with 18%, with the Demon’s Souls remake in third at 12%. Gran Turismo 7 is fourth on the list- but at 8% of total search, it’s clear that not as many are cheering for the return of Trial Mountain, though the PlayStation exclusive racing series still has its strong fanbase.

On the list of 3rd-party titles, there’s an overwhelming number of searches for Capcom’s Resident Evil Village, or Resident Evil 8. Werewolves and an even bigger Chris Redfield has counted for 55% of total searches.

The list is followed by the open-ended murder game Hitman 3 (11%), Capcom’s new IP Pragmata (11%), Little Devil Inside (10%) and the funny yet equally horrific Bugsnax (6%).

Since these are not PS5 exclusives, the number of searches in the 3rd-party list are not limited to Sony fans and potential PS5 buyers.
