All aboard the space High Speed Rail train, PlayStation players. Hoyoverse’s free-to-play RPG Honkai: Star Rail is out now on PS5.
The new console release is released together with the new 1.4 update “Jolted Awake from a Winter Dream”, live on all platforms today.
The PS5 version of HSR supports 4K resolution, enhanced graphical features including volumetric fog and high-quality water features and fast loading thanks to the SSD. If you’ve played this on other platforms, check out the The Alchemy Commission in Xianzhou Luofu and see the graphical changes yourself.
As for version 1.4 content, three (four?) new characters can join the team as playable characters: Jingliu, Topaz & Numby, and Guinaifen.
The story picks up after the restoration of Xianzhou Luofu where the crew now heads to Jarilo-VI.
New content for this update includes the Aetherium Wars. This in-universe video game has you build and train Aether Spirits with the aim to secure a spot in the tournament at Jarilo-VI. Sounds like a Pokemon-esque mini-game on paper.
Honkai: Star Rail version 1.4 is now live on PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, standalone launcher), iOS and Android.
