Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is shaping up to be ready for release soon, unlike another particular World Of Darkness title.
Publishers Nacon has showed more gameplay of Earthblood with developer commentary by Julien “Patch” Desourteaux, Game Director at Cyanide, highlighting what the tools that werewolf man Cahal has up his sleeves in taking down the polluting oil and gas company Endron.
Cahal can switch to three forms- his muscly biker dude human form, wolf form useful for stealth and exploration and Crinos form- i.e. the werewolf form- his main form for combat. Whilst in Crinos form, Cahal has access to combos from normal attacks, special attacks and three stances to switch to.
Combat has a character action/beat-’em-up vibe to it- albeit in jankier form- but at least developers Cyanide are showing the gameplay as it is. It does look fun, and the stealth bits do feel like what you’d expect from a game with stealth mechanics- you also have access to a crossbow handy for long-range snipes and with the right bolts- also tamper with the environment.
This is supposed to be an action RPG, so having the duality of stealth and combat checks out.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood will be out on February 4, 2021 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game will include a free next-gen upgrade.
