Hammurabi Leads Babylon In Civilization VI, Coming To Babylon Pack DLC

As promised, the First Look video has arrived detailing the new Babylonian civ in Civilization VI, coming to the Babylon Pack DLC, part of New Frontier Pass.

Instead of Nebuchadnezzar, Civ VI’s Babylon will be led by Hammurabi- a name more familiar (and easier to pronounce) from history textbooks in Malaysia. His leader ability, “Ninu Ilu Sirum” gives you a free district building (the cheapest one available) for the first time you construct that particular district type, plus a bonus envoy. The Government Plaza district is excluded- so no free buildings and envoy for constructing that.

Babylon themselves have the “Enuma Anu Enlil” ability. For every Eureka triggered, instead of a tech boost you outright gain that tech. At the cost of decreased Science generated per turn. Babylon is still a science powerhouse, but you really need to keep fulfilling the Eureka mini-quests or be left behind from your weakened Science output.

Babylon also has the Sabum Kibittum unique melee unit for the Ancient Era, which has more Combat Strength against Light and Heavy Cavalry plus additional sight. The Plagum is a unique building that replaces watermills, which gives more Production and Housing, and adds more Food generated by freshwater tiles in the city.

Babylon is all about having an early head start. The unique units and buildings are at play in the early game, and chaining Eurekas are easier to do early on.

The Babylon civ is part of the Babylon Pack paid DLC, which also includes new Great People, six new city-states and the Heroes & Legends optional game mode. The Babylon Pack DLC will be out on November 19 for the PS4, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch for RM22, or as part of the New Frontier Pass for RM129.
