Halo Infinite Delayed Until 2021

It will be a while more until we see more of Master Chief and Craig The Brute. 343 Industries has announced that Halo Infinite won’t be an Xbox Series X launch title as it’s delayed to 2021.

“We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision,” said Studio Head Chris Lee.

343 says it’s “the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges”, including the current pandemic impacts of game development.

Halo Infinite was showcased at last month, and many have pointed out how lacklustre it was graphically. 343 acknowledged the faults, and this is most likely the result of that.

It’s unfortunate that it will now miss the launch window for Xbox Series X, given this was the poster boy title for that. But judging by that gameplay demo, it really needed more time.

Microsoft have now started talking about there’s still a lot more games that you can play on Xbox Series X, including all the titles from all four generation of Xbox consoles, when it launches sometime in November.
