Gran Turismo Sport’s Latest Update Adds 12 New Cars, A Proper Campaign Mode And More

The big content update promised last month is here. GT Sport’s 1.09 and 1.10 update adds new cars and a campaign mode that is more in line with previous GT games. As revealed earlier, the 12 cars are an interesting mix. They are:

  • Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) (N300)
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R V・spec II (R32) (N300)
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R V・spec II Nür (R34) (N300)
  • Ford F-150 SVT Raptor (N400)
  • Lamborghini Countach LP400 (N400)
  • Ferrari F40 (N500)
  • Ferrari Enzo Ferrari (N700)
  • KTM X-BOW R(N300)
  • Suzuki Swift Sport (N100)
  • Volkswagen Samba Bus Type 2 (T1) (N100)
  • Chris Holstrom Concepts 1967 Chevy Nova (N700)
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3) (N300)

The Chris Holstrom Concepts 1967 Chevy Nova is the 2013 SEMA car show winner. Starting that year, series director Kazunori Yamauchi himself hand picks a winner from the car show which will then be included in Gran Turismo. This is the first appearance of the car, and there should be four other SEMA winners that will join the car list in the future.

The new campaign mode, GT League, will require you to reach a certain level to unlock the later stages. The events are all themed which restricts the choice of cars, which should be familiar to GT fans.

Alongside that are a few additions. There is now a new track layout for Kyoto Park, the Yamagiwa + Miyabi, new Scapes scenes with the theme of “Season’s Greetings”, a reference lap of Lewis Hamilton on the Nurburgring and more. The full list of update notes are here.

The Balance Of Performance have also see a major change. Overpowered cars like the Renault Megane in Gr.4 and the Porsche 911 RSR in Gr.3 received some nerfs. The change list is huge and can be found here.
