It’s that time again. Gran Turismo Sport is getting its usual free content update, and series producer Kazunori Yamauchi is as always showing off car silhouettes.
Update coming next week. This year's updates are modest in frequency and volume.

Though this time, the tweet comes with an extra message: “This year’s updates are modest in frequency and volume.”
It’s kind of expected. While developer Polyphony Digital is committed to still delivering free content updates in 2020 (a new Mazda race car concept, a Porsche Vision GT and Porsche 917 Living Legend concept car is coming), it won’t be as huge as the past two years. This is the first content update for 2020 (January had none), and we are only getting three cars, one of which is known already: the Aston Martin DBR9 GT1.
The bad news is, of course, GT Sport is nearing the end of its life cycle it looks like. The good news is that most likely Polyphony is cooking up something else right now. The PS5 is coming soon, and Yamauchi has ideas of how Gran Turismo will utilise the next-generation console’s power (frame rates going to 120fps, or even 240 fps, while resolution maintaining at 4K). This is just us speculating, but you can see why it’s likely they are already working on the next game.
Until then, the next Gran Turismo Sport update should drop sometime this week, just before the month ends. As per usual.
