Gran Turismo Sport Will Be Adding The Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 Car In A Future Update
It’s been a while since we hear about new Gran Turismo Sport content, haven’t we? January saw no free content update, but we did get Laguna Seca for December. And there are still plans to release free content in 2020.
Now we got a car reveal. Good news is it’s a new race car that will be in the Gr. 3 category. But it’s another GT1 car from the past decade. The Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 is new to the franchise, a Le Mans winner in 2010 and sporting a grunty V12 engine. So for car fans, it’s still a great inclusion.
The default version is sporting the blue and orange Gulf livery. Though you can expect the many different real-life liveries to be replicated and shared by the community not long once the update goes live.
The DBR9 GT1 was centre stage on the recent GT World Tour event in Sydney, Australia, the first for the 2020 season. It was featured heavily in one of the two semi-finals Nations Cup race.
Here’s a video of the DBR9 GT1 lapping around Brands Hatch, presented by GT World Tour commentator, Jimmy Broadbent.
The Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 will be coming soon to a future update of Gran Turismo Sport. When exactly is still unknown. The earliest we could expect would be later this month, though there have been instances where content shown on the GT World Tour events only get added to the game months after, like Spa and wet Red Bull Ring.
