Gran Turismo 7 Shows Off The Return Of Deep Forest Raceway

Polyphony Digital’s upcoming sim racing game Gran Turismo 7 will be featuring the return of many iconic fantasy tracks from the series past. After showing Trial Mountain and High Speed Ring, GT7 now confirms the return of another beloved classic- Deep Forest Raceway.

Previously, eagle-eyed fans have noticed the line trails in the many behind-the-scenes short trailers that when combined, formed the layout of Deep Forest. Months later, Gran Turismo has finally revealed this to be exactly what they were teasing.

Not only that, we now get to see the new-for-GT7 layout of the circuit as well, courtesy of a new onboard video. Deep Forest has some tweaks similar to Trial Mountain.

The starting hairpins and swooping corners that end with a tunnel section remained faithful to its original incarnation, but now it has a long back straight that leads to a new final hairpin.

The tweak now gives players a clear overtaking opportunity in this tight and windy track. Because with 16-20 cars racing, these older tracks originally designed for 6 cars to race together definitely need some layout adjustments.

Gran Turismo Sport, the online multiplayer-centric release of Gran Turismo on PS4, saw none of the original fantasy tracks (bar Special Stage Route X) returned. So the return of these tracks is a big deal for long-time fans.

Gran Turismo 7 is still on track for its March 7 release date, coming to PS4 and PS5.
