Gran Turismo 7 February 2025 Update Adds Two Cars And A Unimog

The monthly content update for Gran Turismo 7 is arriving on schedule for February 2025: the last Thursday of the month.

The February 2025 GT7 Update, or Update 1.56, adds the usual three cars. Well, two of them are usual, normal cars. The other? A Unimog.

Continuing Gran Turismo’s tradition of adding oddball vehicles that you don’t expect in a racing game, the Mercedes-Benz Unimog Type 411 is essentially a utility truck. A big one at that, look at how it dwarfs the other two sports cars included in the update.

The Unimog is an acronym for the German word Universal-Motor-Gerät (universal motor tool). Technically produced by Daimler, this particular generation of the vehicle features the Westfalia cab which has a more rounded face, as compared to the more rigid slopes of Type B cab the resembles the previous Unimog 401.

Why would a truck used in the agricultural industry and military use ended up in here Gran Turismo, then? It’s the same answer to why there’s an ambulance. And previously in Gran Turismo 6, a lunar rover.

The other two sports cars are great picks, if you don’t find GT7 mogging you with a Unimog that interesting. The BMW Z4 is back in road car form—the game already has the GT3 race car version of it since GT Sport.

Similarly, the Peugeot 205 GTI technically is already in GT7 but in its rally car form. This is the road-going version of the hot hatch.

Other than that, it’s a mild update. Yet another month with no tracks (the last track addition was in November 2023, it’s been a long while).
