Gran Turismo 7 Announces Partnership With Brake Manufacturer Brembo

Gran Turismo is continuing to sign deals with brands as the racing game series announces a partnership with Italian braking system makers Brembo.

Similar to the previous deal with tyre supplier Michelin, you can expect a lot of Brembo branding in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7. Brembo logos will appear across various tracks in the game, and a Brand Central page dedicated to the brand will appear.

But since GT7 will bring back car tuning and upgrading, it’s also announced that you can buy Brembo brake discs and other brake upgrades in the Tuning Shop. You can also pick which colour the brake calipers are, available in 8 different colours.

It’s likely we won’t get to see other brake manufacturers having an official presence as a result, however. You can upgrade brakes, but only Brembo brakes.

And this looks to be purely a marketing partnership, no mention about developing improving brake physics or something along those lines.

We do get some new gameplay snippets from the announcement trailer, however. See a Porsche Carrera GT racing in the dirt. Upgrade and tune the brakes of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. And look at that Ford GT GTE and Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R.

Gran Turismo 7 will be out on March 4, 2022, for the PS4 and PS5.
