Gotham Knights Won’t Be Coming To PS4 And Xbox One After All

Despite earlier showings announcing Warner Bros. Montreal’s upcoming Gotham Knights game coming to PS4 and Xbox One, unfortunately, that won’t be the case when it arrives this October.

Gotham Knights got a new gameplay trailer, showing gameplay of Nightwing and Red Hood, two of the four playable Gotham Knights.

The gameplay showcases that this game will definitely be one of those AAA open-world games with small diversions, critical path story missions where you must use an alternate view to spot clues, online co-op plus crafting and loot mechanics. The usual stuff.

But at the end of the video, there are no more logos for the PS4 or Xbox One. Gotham Knights will be a next-gen-only title.

A press release for the new gameplay reveal states the following:

Please note, to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.

Gotham Knights was first scheduled to release last year before it got delayed. In 2021, it made sense for the devs aiming for a cross-gen release, even moreso thanks to global supply chain disruptions that have made the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles harder to get a hold of.

Though if this is of any indication, it looks like more third-party game developers and publishers are ready to drop support of PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Gotham Knights will be out on October 25 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
