Gotham Knights Announced, Play As A Member Of The Batman Family Now That Batman’s Dead

The next game from Warner Bros. Montreal, the makers of Batman: Arkham Origins, has been long teased. But at the DC Fandome event last weekend, it has been finally announced.

Called Gotham Knights, you play as either Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin or Red Hood, becoming the new heroes of Gotham city now that Batman’s dead. Each of them plays a bit different. Batgirl seems to be the most similar to the Arkham game’s Batman in terms of movesets, with some flourishes of her own. While Red Hood brings out his signature dual-guns and can start blasting.

Gotham Knights will see you take on a variety of villains from the DC universe. Mr. Freeze has been revealed to be one of the many villains you encounter. The Court Of Owls, prominently connected with the many teasers for the game before, seems to appear too.

While the game can be played solo, it also supports two-player online co-op, so you can choose any duo from the Batfamily to tackle the story. You’ll get to roam around an open world that is Gotham City. Unlike the Arkham series, Gotham Knights will be an action RPG- you can see damage numbers seen in the trailer. Which reminds us a lot of what Marvel’s Avengers is doing.

Gotham Knights will be out on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X sometime in 2021.
