Google? Gaming? The tech giant has been investing in video games recently, most visibly in Project Stream, their game streaming project.
However, rumours are that Google will launch a full AAA games-streaming console codenamed Project Yeti. We’ve seen a patent for a controller. Jade Raymond, of Ubisoft and EA Motive fame, is now a VP at Google. And Google will be present at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) with a keynote.
The keynote will air on March 20th, 1AM Malaysian time (+8GMT) (Or March 19th, 10AM PDT). You can watch it on YouTube here:
We will see how much streaming will play a part of Google’s entry to the gaming space. We don’t think the internet infrastructure in Malaysia at least will be up to par for such tech to take off just yet. Even the email newsletter page to subscribe to the announcement does not work if it detects you are from Malaysia. So don’t get your hopes up that this will be available outside of North America and Europe soon.
