GigaBash Getting Xbox And Switch Release, But It’ll Take A While

Passion Republic Games’ monster-versus-heroes brawler GigaBash will be making its way to Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

No release window for the Xbox and Switch ports of GigaBash has been given.

A recent dev update post via the game’s official channels have confirmed this, but also revealed that the indie developers may need to take some time before it’s ready for the new platforms.

Part of the statement reads:

“We are working on optimizing the game for the respective platforms to enhance performance and stability. Throughout this process, we encountered various bugs and technical challenges that we need to address before putting the game out. There are also visual problems that need to be fixed; redesigning certain UI to fit a smaller screen being one of them. The list goes on…”

“For the game to achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we humble ask for your patience and allow us the time to prepare the best experience for you.”

It’s a fascinating statement that shows that a “simple” port isn’t all that simple and can be a big undertaking for an indie developer team.

In the meantime, the GigaBash team are open to any ideas for future collabs for fans to suggest- they’ve done the obvious with the Godzilla DLC. If you ask us here at Gamer Matters, all we want to see is Papa Zola from the BoboiBoy series going head-to-head against Gigaman.

GigaBash is currently available on PS4, PS5, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). You can check out our review of the game here.
