Love Yakuza and Like A Dragon? Well this game is like Like A Dragon, eerily similar even.
Nagoshi Studio, the new team founded by Like A Dragon creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has unveiled their new game at the 2025 The Game Awards. It’s called.. Gang Of Dragon.
Gang Of Dragon is quite like Like A Dragon.
The trailer are two scenes where men in business suits beat up each other, using fists, knives and guns.
It ends with showing the iconic red gateway of the infamous district in Shinjuku, Tokyo: Kabukicho. No, not Kamurocho or some fictionalised name, that’s the real sign with the real name. They got the proper name for the district in Gang Of Dragon.
The trailer is supposed to represent gameplay, which looks ridiculous. A little uncanny but definitely high fidelity.
As the Steam page revealed, Gang Of Dragon stars South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok (who you may recognise in various films or his cameo in Death Stranding 2) as Shin Ji-seong, a member of the Korean syndicate based in Kabukicho. Screenshots show Shin Ji-seong has a weapon at all times, so you can pull out a gun, or heck a minigun, for some third-person, over-the-shoulder shooting action on top of the usual fisticuffs.
You can own and customise cars, even, which is interesting and certainly not like Like A Dragon.
Between Gang Of Dragon and Stupid Never Dies, the studios formed under NetEase Games in the early half of the 2020s have finally something to show. Not all of the studios share the same fate, most western devs formed under NetEase has closed without shipping a game, but looks like the earlier endeavours are bearing fruit.
Can GOD overcome LAD? That doesn’t matter. What matters is
Gang Of Dragon has no release date yet and at the time of writing only confirmed PC (Steam) as a platform.
