New Xbox Game Pass Standard Tier Replacing Xbox Game Pass For Console
Starting July 10, Xbox Game Pass for Console is not available to be subscribed by new members. However, codes to redeem Xbox Game Pass For Console will continue to work, allowing current members to stack up to 13 months of subscription.
Replacing Xbox Game Pass for Console is Xbox Game Pass Standard. This sits between Xbox Game Pass Core (the replacement for Xbox Live Gold) and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Xbox Game Pass Standard removes day-one releases, a big feature that no other game subscription service does at this tier, just in time for Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 to arrive day-one on Game Pass.
However, Game Pass Standard will include online multiplayer, the standard library of Game Pass games sans day-one releases (more than Game Pass Core’s limited library) as well as member deals and discounts.
The pricing increase for Game Pass was always inevitable, as all subscription services more or less have done so as growth numbers plateaued. But this won’t be the last price revision, so enjoy the services while it’s still affordable- RM20 a month for a library of games is still a good deal, and PC Game Pass has yet to suffer the same fate of the Xbox consoles where day-one releases are locked to a higher tier subscription.
