Free Trial, G-Rank and A Sweet Tux: Here’s Every Announcement From The Monster Hunter World Special Livestream
As promised at the Game Awards, Capcom showed off plenty of new announcements for Monster Hunter World. Here are the announcements:
The main news that has anyone riled up is the announcement of Iceborne, a new paid expansion for Monster Hunter: World. Players will travel to a new continent which promises a new quest rank similar to G-Ranks of previous games. Also added are new armor sets as well as new monsters, such as Nargacuga.
A new trailer was put out for this announcement, check it out here:
While the update is coming to console first, Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto says they are also working on the update for PC.
More news on Iceborne is set to come out in Spring, so stay tuned for that.
Arch Tempered Kulve Taroth- Monster Hunter’s first raid boss is getting an Arch Tempered variant, with changes to her mechanics, as well as new loot to get. However, unlike previous Arch Tempereds, Kulve Taroth will replace the existing hunt, acting more as an update to the fight.
Arch Tempered Nergigante- The flagship monster for World is also getting an Arch Tempered variant, joining the ranks of other elder dragons like Kirin, Vaal Hazak and Kushala.
In conjunction with the 1st Anniversary of Monster Hunter: World, a celebratory festival will be held in the Gathering Hub. This will follow all the previous seasonal festivals, including a new festive tuxedo-styled armor set.
Geralt from The Witcher, after his time fighting the horrors of custom characters in Soul Calibur 6, now comes to Astera in Monster Hunter World. Similar to the Behemoth quest, this Witcher collaboration features fully voiced cutscenes, featuring the actual voice actor for Geralt.
Finally, if you’ve ever been interested in trying out Monster Hunter World but weren’t prepared to put down the money for it, now’s your chance. Starting tomorrow (11th December as of the time of writing) you can get access to a Free Trial of Monster Hunter World, where you can play until HR 4 of the game.
Any progress made in the trial will carry over to the full version should you buy it, and you can even engage in jolly co-operation with players who have bought the full version. The trial runs until 17th of December, 2018.
What are your thoughts on the update? Was it a Christmas miracle? Or was there something more you were looking forward to? Let us know in the comments. Happy hunting!
