Free-To-Play Sports Game Roller Champions Launches On May 25

Hey, remember that one Ubisoft free-to-play game Roller Champions announced back in 2019? It’s finally ready for release.

The roller derby-like-but-not-really sports game sees two teams of three (3v3) racing to be the first team to score five points. You score points by throwing a ball into the goal, but the more laps you do around the arena (all elliptical shape like it’s a Nascar short track), the more points you’ll bank, should it gets in the goal, and assuming you’re not being tackled by the defenders from the other team.

You’ll need to work together to pass the ball, defend the goal and making sure your team scores.

Winning matches and climbing the Roller Champions leaderboards in ranked mode will see you unlock more stadiums and higher leagues. There will be limited-time game modes, character customisation and plenty of cosmetics plus a Roller Pass, the game’s equivalent of a season pass/battle pass, complete with the usual free/premium tracks of unlocks.

Roller Champions will support cross-play as well as cross-progression (cross-save) so you can play with anyone on any platforms and carry over that progression and unlocks across all the different platforms you can play the game on.

Roller Champions will roll out on May 25 and will be available on PS4, PS5, PC (Ubisoft Connect), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
