It’s that time in the month again. Ubisoft is giving out free games to celebrate its 30 year anniversary and for the month of October, we’re getting Beyond Good & Evil. Best described as one the classic 3D platformers or an action adventure game, the game tasks you as Jade, an investigative reporter and help out a resistance movement as well as exposing a conspiracy. The game was made by Michel Ancel of Rayman fame. Beyond Good & Evil received plenty of love by critics but it commercially bombed.
With that said, it’s time to rediscover what makes this game so great, and test if it has aged well. The standard caveat applies: you’ll need a uPlay account to claim this. The link will take you the download page.
Aside from that, Ubisoft recently announced that a sequel is in the works. This would’ve been exciting news, if it were not for the fact that a sequel announcement has been done years ago. Recently, the folks at Rock Paper Shotgun cheekily uploaded a teaser trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2, a teaser trailer from 2008. Yes, it has been that long since we’ve heard the same news, but maybe it will surmount to something concrete this time?
