Forza Motorsport continues to be updated and with Update 14, now available, the racing game is adding stock cars from NASCAR.
The three cars, the 2024 Chevrolet NASCAR Next Gen Camaro ZL1, 2024 Ford NASCAR Next Gen Mustang Dark Horse and 2024 Toyota NASCAR Next Gen Camry XSE, are the current generation of cars, referred usually as the “Next Gen” cars (like how we gamers refer all new consoles as next-gen), technically Gen-7 cars.
There have been changes to the Next Gen NASCAR cars by two of the three manufactures since its inception in 2021. So these trio reflects the looks of the stock cars from 2024 where Ford and Toyota have slightly updated its body style design.
The cars themselves have generic liveries, so it’s up to players to recreate the many, many liveries that run on the 30+ cars throughout the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
It’s nice to see NASCAR reappear in more mainstream racing games outside of iRacing. Until the console NASCAR game arrives, that is. More players can attempt some wallriding like the professionals did.
Update 14 for Forza Motorsport (2023) brings bug fixes, gameplay improvements in particular to improve the game’s oval racing, and audio redos for select cars which had sounds that don’t match the real thing.
Forza Motorsport continues to update the game on a monthly basis. Last month saw the return of Forza-only fictional track, Sunset Peninsula Raceway, which features an oval layout.
Forza Motorsport (2023) is out now on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
