Series 4 has hit Forza Horizon 5 today and it introduces new cars (including the first from Chinese manufacturers NIO and Wuling), new rewards and a major shakeup to the Festival Playlist events since launch.
Series 4 is themed around the Horizon World Cup. In all Festival Playlist events, car selection is restricted to six different cars representing the six competing countries: USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
Selecting cars from the country of choice in Festival Playlist events will contribute points towards that country in the Horizon World Cup. There’s no in-game tally of the scores, rather, this will be posted throughout this month on Forza’s social channels.
The Festival Playlist has seen quite the change in this series. There are no PR stunt challenges (likely reserving them for the next series). So you only have The Trial, Playground Games and the three seasonal championships when it comes to events.
But you do have the first of Showcase Remixes. These are the Showcase events with the car selection, music selection and weather changes. To match the Horizon World Cup theme, you get two this series, one right now in the summer as an opening ceremony, and one later in spring (next three weeks- Forza Horizon seasons change each week) as the closing ceremony. Showcase Remixes are worth five points. Easy points at that.
Forzathon, exploration challenges, Horizon Open challenges and the monthly Rivals time trial are still there.
