Foamstars Reveal Season 1 And Content Roadmap

Square Enix’s upcoming multiplayer “party shooter” Foamstars gets a showing at PlayStation’s State Of Play January 2024 broadcast, ahead of its release next week.

Foamstars has revealed it will offer content drops seasonally, like most live service games. A season lasts around five weeks in Foamstars. And each season will include a Season Pass (for everyone) and Premium Season Pass (which requires an additional purchase).

All characters, modes and maps are available for everyone, no purchase necessary.

For Season 1, Starry Pop, will begin on launch day (February 6) until March 8.

In Season 1, there will be the following content:

  • Rank Party. Earn Rank Points in Ranked Party to enter Rank-Up Trials. Limited-time events that change with each season.
    • Ranked Party: Lonestar (solo)
    • Ranked Party: Tribe-Vibe (party)
  • Extreme Party
    • All Mel T Party – Every player plays as Mel T
    • Invisible Party – Every player is invisible
  • Happy Friyay Party
    • Weekends only. Try out new Foamstar (character) coming next season, Coiff Guy

Square Enix has plans to bring six seasons throughout 2024. Every season outside of Season 4 will add a new Foamstar, while Season 4 is the only one this year to see new maps added.

Foamstars is trying to be novel with its Extreme Party modes and if they are as fun as they sound, it might be have its set of fans down the line.

Foamstars will be out on February 6 on PS4 and PS5. The game is part of February 2024’s PS Plus Monthly Games offering, so anyone with a PS Plus subscription can claim the game (until the offer ends in March) and play on day-1 of launch.
