A few days ago, Fnatic, one of the most established Dota 2 teams in Southeast Asia famous for fielding Malaysians, have decided to part ways with longtime member Ohaiyo. With immediate effect, his place will be filled with Universe.

While it is normal in the Dota scene to see established players to move to various teams, apparently the move to part ways with Ohaiyo was not on good terms. Today, the Malaysian Dota legend spoke about the issue on his Facebook post.

“I’m disappointed on being used by my teammates for their own benefit,” he said.

This is not just him being salty for getting replaced, mind, but it is more to how Fnatic handled the situation. According to Ohaiyo, his eventual replacement was already in Malaysia before their qualifiers to ESL One Katowice is set. It rubbed him the wrong way that only after securing the slot to the main event that he was getting dropped.

“Perhaps they worry about losing the slot to a major event, so they choose not to change Universe on that day. I sense that everyone know Major is very important to each team and player.

“As I know, some players got informed just two three days ago before I got the news on last Friday night. Actually they should not be qualified for this major event by using those gimmick.”

The offlaner has been part of Fnatic since 2015, and was part of the team ‘s miraculous run to fourth place in The International 2016. His unexpected departure came at inopportune time, with the first roster lock for the Dota 2 Major and Minor events happening in one week away.
