More patches! Final Fantasy XV will receive the awaited story patch that has received mixed receptions, particularly Chapter 13. Thirteen is certainly an unlucky number for the series it seems. The PS4 Pro patch has also been detailed, courtesy of a recent Active Time Report stream.
The patch will address some gameplay elements that left fans complaining. We were also not a fan of how it plays out, despite it being thematically appropriate.
Director Hajime Tabata has this to say on the changes to Chapter 13: ” The direction of chapter 13’s content was a deliberate decision made by the development team. That said, the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through this chapter was greater than we had anticipated. We believe resolving this issue will naturally lead to a better gameplay experience.”
The changes to Chapter 13 is slated to release alongside Episode: Gladio, the DLC that lets you play as Noctis’ bodyguard and really tough friend, on March 28.
For the PS4 Pro patch, it will come sooner alongside the Power Rangers-esque suits in the Booster Pack DLC. It should allow PS4 Pro owners experience the game in 60fps. That patch will also add addtional changes including limited time quests, an increased level cap (120), more room to store photos in-game and listening to music while riding on Chocobos.
