Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Heads To PS4, Switch This Month

Square Enix announced that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has a release date on when it’s heading to PS4 and Switch.

The Pixel Remaster series is a remaster of the first six Final Fantasy games based on their original release (a few entries, like Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV have had 3D remakes- and those remakes are not part of this series).

The Pixel Remaster series was previously available on PC via Steam as well as on iOS and Android.

For the PS4 and Switch release, the Pixel Remaster release includes the following extra options:

  • Switch between original and re-arranged soundtrack
  • Additional “boost features” for gameplay
    • Turn off random encounters
    • adjust experience gain multipliers (from x0 to x4)

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series can be purchased as a bundle of six games, or ala carte as its own game, for those just looking to play a specific numbered entry of the series.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, which includes remasters of the original Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, will be available on PS4 and Switch on April 20.
