Here’s a surprise. Square Enix just released a PC port for Final Fantasy III. The game first appeared on NES, before being ported to Nintendo DS, PSP and then to mobile on iOS and Android.
Final Fantasy III follows the adventures of four orphans, Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus. The game is notable for the introduction of the job system, where characters can evolve their classes over time- each starting with the blank slate Onion Knight job.
The PC port on Steam has changed the UI and added control options to suit on PC, including gamepad and keyboard and mouse support.
Here are some other new features available on the new PC port:
- Full-screen display now available until 21:9 resolution
- Gallery Mode (See all illustrations of the game, characters. Also a soundtrack player)
- Auto-battle Function (battles go twice as fast, with characters repeating the previous action)
The mobile release is also updated, with higher resolution graphics and cutscenes, new touch-panel controls, and Gallery mode.
To celebrate the release, Final Fantasy III is 50% off on Steam as well as on Apple App Store and Google Play Store, dropping it to RM36.50 on Steam and RM29.90 for Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
