Fallen Tear: The Ascension is a new Metroidvania/search action game by Winter Crew and CMD Studios, and it’s ready for an Early Access release.
With development supported by backers on Kickstarter, Fallen Tear: The Ascension follows the the adventures of Hira, a child tasked to take on the ancient gods. But they won’t be alone in the endeavour: allies made via the Fated Bonds system allows Hira to make use of their powers for combat and traversal.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension features a 2D hand-drawn art style, full art style, and the world of Raoah is filled with secrets to uncover, befitting a Metroidvania. The allies you gain gives the game a hint of that JRPG feel as well. That’s JRPG as in plays like a JRPG, the genre, as the devs are based in The Philippines.
The Early Access version of Fallen Tear: The Ascension will have about 15-20 hours of content, that’s a sizable amount for an Early Access release. Expect 10 regions, six main bosses and an additional three optional bosses. The story will only have its opening act, however.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension will be out on PC (Steam) via Early Access on March 17. The full release is also set to arrive on PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
