Singapore-based esports organisation Resurgence has announced a rebrand. Now only known as RSG, the esports org now has a fresh new logo, website and even jerseys to reflect this.
“As we extended our presence to more markets, we realized that our fans started to affectionately abbreviate our name to RSG. So naturally, they
should have the final say,” said RSG co-founder and CEO Jayf Soh, explaining the name change.
RSG has also announced that they are now expanding their operations outside of Malaysia and Singapore. RSG is now investing in local esports teams from Myanmar and Vietnam, as well as setting up content production in Vietnam.
RSG are now fielding a team in the inaugural season of the E1 Championship, a motorsports racing tournament featuring the drivers and team across 16 countries in Asia Pacific. They are also participating in the upcoming ONE Esports Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational.
The esports org are also investing in new AR and CG tech to “co-produce immersive esports events in Southeast Asia,” and currently in talks with Vividtree Holdings.
With a strong legion of fans already and a projected three-fold revenue increase (despite a pandemic currently happening), this esports org founded in 2017 are now making some big moves. And as the region’s esports growth continues, expect to see more orgs to rise up, or get a… resurgence.
