ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown Finals – Teams, Brackets, and Schedule Announced

After 4 weeks of qualifiers searching for the best 16 teams of both the North America and Europe regions, and a regional finals to whittle it down to 4 for each region, we have now the 8 teams that will compete for portion of the $100,000 prize pool in ESL’s Overwatch Atlantic Showdown.

With Gamescom coming this weekend, the ESL Blog has announced the brackets of the top 4 teams of each region, format and schedule of the LAN-based finals, where players will be attending Gamescom in person instead of the online rounds had beforehand.

The 8 teams will be divided into two groups, mixing both regions together. The group matches will not be done in a round-robin format however in favour of double elimination, with a best of three. The two teams that advanced from the winners and losers bracket of each group will advance to the Semi-finals where it will be a single elimination, best of five format.

The two groups are:

Group A

  • Misfits
  • Team EnVyUs
  • Creation eSports
  • Fnatic

Group B

The action starts on 20th August at 10:00AM CEST (that’s 4:00PM of the same date local time) with two Group A matches: Misfits VS Fnatic and EnVyUS VS Creation. Three more matches ensues after that. Group B starts at roughly 3:00PM (9:PM local time) with REUNITED VS CompLexity nd Cloud 9 VS Rouge.

You can catch the action on Twitch on the scheduled dates mentioned.
