Space sim Elite: Dangerous will let you set out of your space-ship and explore the vast worlds on foot in an upcoming expansion.
Titled Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, players will can expect a range of new content coming from the ability to set foot on planets. From stealth to diplomacy, from commerce to full-on pew-pew combat. Expect to see a range of different settings, objectives and NPCs.
And you can do on-foot missions together with friends as teammates, and there will be new social hubs to find new contracts , buy and upgrade weapons and gear and just hang out with other players.
“Odyssey is our most ambitious Elite Dangerous expansion to date,” said David Braben, Founder and CEO of Frontier. “Extending coverage to the super-fine scale that is needed for on-foot gameplay while maintaining the vast raw distances measured in light years, is a huge achievement by the team, and greatly extends the already rich Elite Dangerous experience.“
Essentially, Elite: Dangerous is going to be kind of like No Man’s Sky now. And more closer to what Star Citizen wants to be right now.
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey expansion is set for release in 2021.
