It’s been a while since we heard about the Age Of Empires IV, the RTS sequel of a classic series currently being developed at Relic.
Good news is, according to the latest Age Of Empires blog post recapping last year in review, Age Of Empires IV is now in playable form.
“I don’t want to make you jealous, but we are literally playing this game every single day—both in Washington and in Vancouver,” wrote World’s Edge’s Shannon Lofts. World’s Edge, based in Washington, USA, is the Xbox Game Studio overseeing the Age Of Empires series, working with various developers to bring the new remasters of the first three games and the new sequel.
Despite them not sharing much more like any new trailer or screenshots, Age Of Empires IV is nearing the end of development it seems. The post also confirms that it’s currently “a game that needs debugging and balance and polish”.
There is no release date set yet for Age Of Empires IV, but at least it’s nearing completion. The RTS sequel developed by the makers of Warhammer Dawn Of War was first revealed in 2017.
