Details on Star Wars: Battlefront 2 from E3

“There has been a trailer for Battlefront 2 dropped”

“I have felt it”

With EA’s press conference kicking E3 into high gear last night, audiences were treated to news on the publisher’s brand-new Disney game, Star Wars Battlefront 2. We got a shiny new in-engine gameplay trailer for the sequel to the game described as “Battlefield, but Star Wars”.

The trailer itself is packed with plenty of great titbits- You can partake in battles across the Star Wars trilogies as Imperials and Rebels, or, for the prequels, Clones and Droids. The trailer shows off various guns, droid types and equipment, like jump packs for Clone Troopers and huge tanks for the droids. Various news outlets were also invited to play a multiplayer demo, where Rey and Darth Maul were both playable.

The game promises more starfighter combat than its predecessor: the trailer shows off some sweet X-Wing action, courtesy of Criterion of Need For Speed fame. They’ll be available throughout the many game modes, including an all new Starfighter Assault mode present in the game.

EA also talked about their plans for post-release content for the squad-based shooter. The game plans to have free map DLC, so no one gets left out just because they didn’t buy a new  map (a flaw with the old game). There’s also going to be new heroes added post-launch: Finn and Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens were already announced as part of this.
