Destiny 2 Showcase 2023 To Reveal New Expansion

Eyes up, Guardians. This year’s Destiny 2 Showcase is going to be livestream on August 22.

For Malaysia (+8 GMT), the livestream will start on August 23, 12 AM. The pre-show starts an hour earlier.

The showcase promises to reveal the next expansion to the free-to-play looter-shooter and aspiring MMO game. And it will be the final expansion as part of the current “Light and Darkness Saga”.

Last year saw the reveal of the current expansion, Lightfall, which takes the sci-fi-fantasy-themed story to a cyberpunk turn.

The next expansion was first teased back in the PlayStation Showcase in May. It shows the return of a familiar face.

After the showcase ends, there’s a postshow featuring a roundtable discussion with several developers at Bungie, detailing what to expect from Destiny 2 next year.

Destiny 2 continues to be chugging along as a free-to-play (ish) game with a huge dedicated fanbase.

Bungie is now owned by PlayStation. Despite that, the developer will continue to operate games on other platforms including Xbox. Alongside Destiny, Bungie is also currently working on bringing back Marathon, reimagined as an extraction shooter, coming to PlayStation, PC and Xbox.
