The second game update to Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop is now live. The action-focused, time-looping immersive sim has made improvements to make the NPCs smarter and more aware of your antics.
NPCs will now react to bullets closing by (missed shots), when you assassinate someone close by, and can track your footsteps better, among other improvements. Our review pointed out how dumbed down the enemies are in Deathloop in contrast to past games by the same developer, and it looks like it’s either an unintended issue or the devs are responding to feedback.
The game update also improves the invasion system (PvP). If someone playing Colt got disconnected, that counts as a win for a player-controlled Julianna. And if a player is AFK, they will be tagged appropriately. The antenna Colt needs to hack before exiting will take slightly longer. And if a player Colt decided to camp within the tunnel exits rather than leaving, the tunnels will open and Colt will be tagged, allowing a frustrated Julianna player to get at him.
The AI Julianna is also improved as well as part of the update.
Game Update 2, now live on PS5 and PC, also has some quality of life changes, UI changes, and many other fixes which can be found here.
If you have a PS5, Deathloop is also currently 50% off as part of PlayStation Store’s Black Friday Sales. That’s half off for a game just released two months ago, and a game that’s a prime contender for GOTY accolades judging by how well it’s doing nominations-wise at this year’s Game Awards. Deathloop is also available on PC via Steam.
