The next instalment of the brilliant roguelike horror RPG Darkest Dungeon will be coming next year.
First announced last year, Darkest Dungeon II, like the previous title, will be released first in Early Access form, but it will arrive first on the Epic Games Store.
Alongside the announcement is a new teaser trailer, using 3D character models. This are in-game character models, not just for use in the trailer.
The 3D character models in the teaser did a good job of capturing the original 2D artstyle. Basically, it has received the Guilty Gear Xrd treatment.
Aside from the graphics change, Darkest Dungeon II is bringing a “refined combat system and a whole new metagame”, it will also have new monsters, bosses and challenges for your party to face.
Expect to see Darkest Dungeon II to release in Early Access on the Epic Games Store sometime in 2021.
