Red Hook Studios, the mad indie studio behind the brutal, horrific strategy game Darkest Dungeon, has announced a numbered sequel to the game.
Darkest Dungeon II was announced with this teaser trailer, showing the familiar character classes now on top of a mountain. The excellent narration by Wayne June, returns for the sequel.
According to PC Gamer, Darkest Dungeon II will see the combat from the first game returning but “tuned-up”. A change in how the metagame works. And of course, as seen in the teaser, you get to see outside of just the estate in the first game.
“Darkest Dungeon II is a game about enduring a grueling journey, not cleaning up your backyard,” said Red Hook Studios’ Tyler Sigman and Chris Bourassa.
Like Darkest Dungeon before it, Darkest Dungeon II is coming to Steam Early Access first. However, no release date has been announced just yet.
