Cyberpunk 2077’s In-Game Band Samurai Is Performed By Swedish Punk Rock Band Refused

Putting the "punk" in Cyberpunk

Samurai is a known band in the Cyberpunk universe. And they are still around in Cyberpunk 2077, with Keanu Reeves playing its leading man Johnny Silverhand. However, Keanu won’t be singing, as the CD Projekt RED has collaborated with Swedish punk rock band Refused to be the sound of Samurai.

Refused wrote and performed the songs, some songs are straight-up from the lorebook of the tabletop games. For example, “Chippin’ In”, the first song released under this collaboration, is already an established single from the lore. Have a listen, it’s definitely putting the “punk” in Cyberpunk:

The song first appeared at the end of the cinematic trailer debut at E3 2019, which led to the introduction of Keanu on the Xbox stage. “Chippin’ In” can also be streamed and bought at these services.

The collab will see Refused interpreting other established Samurai songs, as well making new ones just for Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be out on April 16th, 2020 for the PS4, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG) and Xbox One.
