Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Getting Free DLC In “Early 2021”

Here’s more reason to maybe let Cyberpunk 2077 sit in your backlog for a bit. CD Projekt Red has now publicly revealed that free DLCs are coming.

A new page on the official website has been discovered. So far it reads “Free DLC hitting Night City Early 2021. Stay tuned for more info!”

This may not be new news for some folks, however. A hidden message from Cyberpunk 2077’s launch trailer has confirmed this before. A segment of the message reads:

Just like with The Witcher 3, expect an assortment of free DLC packs to begin hitting Night City, dropping a bunch of cool stuff that’ll inject even more life into the world of the dark future

CD Projekt Red’s previous game The Witcher 3 previously received a handful of free DLCs before two major (and paid) expansions was released.

The hidden message also confirms that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting expansions, but the developers are not ready to talk about it.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still suffering from technical issues, especially on consoles, with two patches expected to drop this January and February. The game is currently delisted from digital sales on the PlayStation Store.

At least we know that more fixes (and also free content) is definitely coming down in the near future.

Cyberpunk 2077 has its issues right now, but what it didn’t get wrong is portraying the dark future based on R. Talsorian Games’ tabletop RPG. We recently awarded Cyberpunk 2077 the GM GOTY Award 2020 for Best Aesthetic.
