Microsoft has just revealed more specs and information about its upcoming next-gen console (one of possibly multiple consoles) the Xbox Series X. One of the cool features the console will support is Smart Delivery, where Xbox will automatically download the correct version of the game you have based on what console you use. It also allows you to own the same game across Xbox One and Xbox Series X without extra purchases, should the developer allow it.
At least one developer is allowing it: CD Projekt Red.
In a tweet, the developer confirms that the upcoming first-person RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will support Smart Delivery and will not charge Xbox players extra should they want to play the game on Xbox One and then Xbox Series X later. Just one purchase is needed:
Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of #Cyberpunk2077 for Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available. https://t.co/nfkfFLj85w

CD Projekt Red has always had the reputation of putting gamers first, like how their games are DRM-free on PC, with support of various free DLCs. So such a move is par for the course, yet always a welcomed one.
Also, this is the first hard confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to next-gen consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be out on September 17th for the PS4, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG) and Xbox One. And will also coming to Xbox Series X.
