Crusader Kings III Adds Custom Ruler Designer For Free In Latest Update

Grand strategy/RPG Crusader Kings III will be adding a feature where you get to design your own custom character to rule the Middle Ages. It will be a free update in the next update 1.2, which should be available today.

In a new dev diary, developers Paradox showcased what you can do with this game’s Ruler Designer.

Similar to CK 2, CK 3’s Ruler Designer will let you replace any playable character on the map to be of your own custom creation. And now that it has 3D models, you can make an absolute beauty (or absolutely cursed) to call your own.

Various aspects of the ruler can be replaced, from sex, sexual orientation, faith and culture to physical looks. Unfortunately, on release you can’t create your own custom coat-of-arms for your dynasty, you’ll only able to randomise it.

As for the traits, Paradox will now not put a hard limit of how many stat points your created ruler can have. This is as a response to seeing many players downloading mods removing the limit. Though as a compromise, going above the limit will just disable achievements, but you can still make your 100-stat ruler should you wish with no extra mods needed.

Lastly, you can also share the DNA of your custom ruler. Just copy and paste a code and anyone can have the exact replica of your wonderful creation/horrible abomination.
