Pearl Abyss has announced that Crimson Desert has gone gold. The South Korean developer’s first open world single-player game has locked in their release build, as the game is now ready for release. And there’s still a good two months away until then.
Outside of one rare peculiar instance recently, a game that has gone gold (ready for physical disc production) also means the game will likely be ready and available on the advertised release date.
“We sincerely thank our fans around the world for being with us on this meaningful journey,” the developer said. “Thanks to your support, we have reached this important milestone. We look forward to welcoming you to the continent of Pywel on March 19.”
The announcement on social media shows a picture of what looks to be the entire team behind Crimson Desert, hundreds of them, all happy and proud of this achievement. Quite a relieve, considering the amount of delays the game has had, this was initially targeted for release in 2021.
Crimson Desert follows the journey of Kliff and his Greyman companions in the world of Pywell. Previous trailers showed the ridiculous amount of things you can do in this open world action-adventure game packed with mundane activities and fantastical action featuring boss fights, high fidelity graphics and powerbombs.
The developers are known for the Black Desert MMORPG, still well and alive on PC, consoles and mobile. Crimson Desert is the team’s first mainstream AAA big-budget single-player title.
Crimson Desert will be out on March 19 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Mac and Xbox Series X|S.
