Pearl Abyss continues to work on its already released single-player title Crimson Desert, and its next free update is big enough that the game now has a slight name change.
Revealed at Opening Night Live 2026, Crimson Desert Enhanced is adding new cutscenes and dialogue as part of Pearl Abyss’ efforts in improving the game’s story. The developer teased previously that it will continue to improve the story through updates.
Moreover, the game also adds five new voiceover languages: French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese (Brazilian). Support for Arabic subtitles and UI are also added too.
To go alongside the new free update, available now, that enhances Crimson Desert, Crimson Desert Enhanced is now on sale at 20% off on all platforms. This is the first discount the game has since launch.
Crimson Desert launched in early this March and has so far sold over 5 million copies. Not too shabby for the South Korean developer’s first single-player title.
Crimson Desert follows the story of Kliff, who must rebuild the Greymanes after an ambush by their sworn enemies has left the clan scattered. But there’s more waiting for Kliff as he goes on this open world journey that will also see two other characters become playable. And with Crimson Desert Enhanced, hopefully the story is told much better than what was presented at launch.
