Pearl Abyss is far from done with supporting its first single-player open world game, Crimson Desert. A new developer update has teased that there’s more content to come via its regular free updates, but the team is also working on DLC.
No exact information on what the DLC entails, so for now just know that Crimson Desert will be getting DLC.
As for the game updates, there are a few features that will be rolled out between this month, June and September. One of which is improvements to the storytelling. Player feedback in this regard has led to Pearl Abyss on “refining the coherence of key scenes to strengthen the narrative flow of Kliff’s journey and make it more engaging.” If Black Desert was of any indication, storytelling isn’t Pearl Abyss’ strong suit, but it’s good to hear the team is open to improve this aspect.
On top of that, the other two playable characters Damiane and Oongka will be getting “various adjustments” so that they stand with Kliff sharing the spotlight as protagonists.
On top of all that, Crimson Desert will be adding the following:
- New combat content
- Re-Blockade rework: new phase added to make the flow before and after blockade more natural. New ways to defend strongholds. Improved rewards for liberating strongholds
- Cross-save between PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms
- Quality of life improvements to non-combat content (trading, farming)
Crimson Desert is out now.
