Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Reveals New Playable Character, Cosmetic Costumes And Inverted Mode

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is an all-new Crash Bandicoot game set after Crash: Warped, all those post-Naughty Dog Crash game are an alternative timeline.

Developer Toys For Bob opened the recent State Of Play for August 2020 with a deep dive on Crash 4. This sequel sticks close to original Crash trilogy of platformers, but with new ideas thrown in.

For one, Crash (or Coco, who you can play as instead of Crash) will be wall-running, rail-grinding and using different masks that brings new powers, like slow-mo, gravity shift and switching dimensions.

Crash 4 also adds cosmetic costumes you can wear for Crash and Coco. These are all unlockable via gameplay and serve as pure cosmetic. Give Crash that biker suit from Crash: Warped, or put Coco in a unicorn onesie.

In addition, there will be parts of the game where you play as Dr. Neo Cortex, who has a different moveset from Crash and Coco. There’s also a new playable character revealed, also a former boss character. Dingodile will be playable too.

Finally, the deep dive ends with the reveal of N. Verted Mode. This is Mirror Mode, but each level has a different aesthetic change. And some of the filters being shown look pretty eye-catchy, more reason to play the same levels again but mirrored. This part of the game is being done by another Activision studio, Beenox.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about Time hops and spins to stores on October 2 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
