It’s about time. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is set to land on next-gen consoles and Switch soon, with a PC launch coming later this year.
On PS5 and Xbox Series, expect to see 4K resolution (PS5 and Xbox Series X) at 60fps, faster loading times and for the PS5, some use of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.
If you already have it on PS4 and Xbox One, this will be a free next-gen upgrade (except in Japan). Xbox One players will see an update of about 25GB for Xbox Series X|S optimisation.
The next-gen release of Crash 4, alongside the Nintendo Switch version, will arrive on March 12.
There will be a PC release, but for whatever reason, Activision decided it will be released only on Battle.net. It makes sense to make use of Blizzard’s PC back-end for online multiplayer games like the Call Of Duty releases. But Crash 4? The previous Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy were available on Steam as well as on Microsoft Store.
Crash 4 pretends that the previous Crash 4 didn’t happen. And it bring Crash, Coco and a few more playable characters on a new platforming course with new gimmicks and more quality-of-life changes (restarting a level after losing all lives is now optional).
